Began insurance career February 1, 1967, Graduate of University of Southern Mississippi, Active in both Insurance Industry and Community Affairs. Currently serving as Chairman of Alabama Homebuilders Insurance Advisory Committee, Insurance Chairman and Board of Directors, Mobile Homebuilders Association, Member of City of Mobile Planning Commission, Chairman of Vocational Education Advisory Committee of Mobile County Public School System, Member of USM School of Business Advisory Board of Directors. Past president of National and local USM Alumni Association, Mobile Independent Insurance Agents, Skyline Country Club, Chairman, Administrative Board, Christ Unites Methodist Church, Charter Member USM Alumni Hall of Fame.
Enjoys Sports and playing tennis, married to BJ Adams, together we have four children. We attend Christ United Methodist Church; enjoy walking, tennis and Southern Miss. Sports.
C. King Pickett

Began insurance career in 1958 working for an agent who wrote Marine Insurance. I gained a good deal of Marine product experience. In 1959 I joined my father at Pickett-Hamilton Real Estate & Insurance. In 1961 my father, Smith Pickett, and I left to form Pickett Real Estate & Insurance. My dad managed the real estate side and I managed the Insurance. In 1974, Spencer M. Adams, III and I formed Pickett & Adams Insurance, Inc.
I have served in many positions with the Independent Agents Association; President of the State and Local Associations, Personal Lines Committee Chairman and State Director. I am active in the Homebuilders and Remodelers Association.
I am an avid jogger, logging 31,000 miles since 1972. I served three years in the Army, Marine and Air Force Reserves. While in the Air Force I flew as a Loadmaster for three years. I did some Sky Diving in the 60’s and in 1990 and made four jumps with my son. I have two children and four grandchildren.
B.J. Adams

Began insurance career with Pickett & Adams in November 1974. I have worked in all areas of the agency including Personal and Commercial lines, computer and accounting. My current responsibility is Operations Manager. Our agency is a member of Agency Peak Performance Exchange (APPEX). I attend the APPEX Executive Symposium for performance – creating benchmarks and standards that will bring the best client services to our customers.
Married to Spencer Adams and together we have four children. Most of my free time is spent with the two youngest and their activities. Attend Christ United Methodist Church; enjoy walking, the beach and traveling with my husband to Southern Miss football games.
Steve King

1965 graduate of Auburn University with a B.S. in Business Administration. Began insurance career in 1967 as a Commercial Insurance Underwriter with Aetna Casualty and Surety Company in Birmingham, Al. In 1970 I was employed by Aetna Insurance Company as a Marketing Representative and transferred to the Mobile, Alabama territory two years later. I became a partner at Pickett & Adams Insurance in 1980.
I am actively involved with the Spanish Fort United Methodist Church. My wife, two daughters (and son-in-laws) and three grandchildren keep me busy.
Spence M. Adams IV (Spence)

Began Insurance Career in 1993 in Life Insurance and Financial Planning. Trained with Marketing Department of Cincinnati Life Insurance Company before coming to Pickett & Adams in 1993. Attended the University of Southern Mississippi from 1989 to 1993. Member of the Mobile Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors since 1993. Qualified for Million Dollar Round Table for Financial Planners in 1999 and 2000. Served on Professional Business Council of Mobile, Home Builders Association in 1997. Member of Christ United Methodist Church and serve on Leadership 2000 Campaign. Member of CBMC of Mobile.
For fun I enjoy running, traveling, fishing, golf, tennis, cooking and snowboarding. I am to married Anne Fountain. We have no children as of yet.
